Ongar Wedding Videographer

Carmen and Ricardo – Ongar, Essex. For me, the perfect wedding has a cool, down to earth couple, pretty scenery, great people, humour, emotions, a chilled vibe, live music, dancing, and at least one dog. And that’s exactly what I witnessed here, with Carmen and Ricardo putting on the best day ever, helped by expert wedding planner Weddings by Mary. Mary was fantastic – the best wedding planners help everything run smoothly but they work like magicians, without any visible stress or bother, with many hours of preparation in advance of the day.

From the moment Carmen got in touch, with her unbridled enthusiasm and kind words, I knew the day would be one of my favourites. Her spirit is infectious and reflected by her family, who were so sweet on the day, and bride preps in a remote country house had the best atmosphere. The old church where the ceremony took place was really pretty – but tiny! No room to swing a cat. Usually I can film from the side, with an extra 2 or 3 angles, but coverage this time required a bit more ingenuity. All good in the end, and the test of an experienced videographer is how we handle these logistical challenges 🙂

Right next to the church was the reception area and marquee, surrounded by miles of farmland. The remote location meant that noise was not an issue and the band could turn the volume up to 11. Among the unique aspects of this wedding was the bride smashing a piñata, and a chant to celebrate the groom’s beloved football team, FC Zurich (check out the ending of the film!).

With great speeches, a lively crowd, beautiful décor and top wedding photographer Chris Woodman Photography working as a team player, plus Weddings by Mary ensuring a successful event, the day was everything a wedding videographer could hope for. Absolutely my kind of wedding, and I hope that this upbeat wedding film captured the essence of the day. Enjoy!
