Parklands Quendon Hall, Essex

Parklands Quendon Hall in Essex is a 17th century mansion in a deer park, and one of my favourite wedding venues. Anything unique in a wedding is a good thing for me, and having so many deer roaming around makes for really unique shots. An outdoor ceremony at Parklands Quendon Hall looks great, as there’s a perfect location for it by the fountain, and in this case Mary and Charlie hired Events By The Emporium to really elevate the décor and floral arrangements so their ceremony was breathtakingly gorgeous – check it out!

I really clicked with Mary and Charlie, definitely my kind of couple. By that I mean they’re hilarious and don’t take life too seriously. This is obvious in the bride’s reaction to being knocked over by the enthusiastic guest who caught the bouquet (technically she stole it, I think!) – definitely one of the most bonkers moments I’ve seen at a wedding! Despite being thrown to the ground (you have to see it for yourself) Mary remained smiling, which is a rare quality. So many smiles throughout the day, especially on the happy couple, is what I love to see and hopefully the vibe of the day is obvious in this upbeat wedding film.

So aside from the stunning ceremony, smiles, laughter and rugby-tackling bouquet scene, we also had great music courtesy of Jamie McGuire (the coolest guy, who got everyone on their feet all by himself!). And a cracking final shot with sparklers. Sparklers always look pretty, but pro tip – figure out how you’re going to light them all quickly and make sure you buy the long sparklers for more time (this shot goes by so quickly!) – and whatever you do BE CAREFUL! Booze + pyrotechnics is a risky proposition and I’ve seen more than one guest get badly burned when they try to light a bunch of sparklers at once (DO NOT DO THIS LOL!). Although it took a while to get all the sparklers lit, we pulled it off and got great shots – and I had 3 angles for extra dimension 🙂
