What a perfect wedding location, right on the river with little boats trundling past, the Secret River Garden in Twickenham really lives up to its name, being one of London’s best kept secrets. Even though Dominique jokes that Twickenham is lovely but “it’s not Manhattan” you really couldn’t ask for a more romantic spot to say your vows and party the night away with friends and family.

Dom and Pete were so lovely and enthusiastic, right from the first email, and I was already excited to be working with them, before we’d even met. The day surpassed all expectations, with gorgeous flowers and the most spectacular views during the ceremony. Best of all (sorry not sorry) their cute pup was in attendance, and he was a feature during morning preps as well as the reception. Dogs and kids running amok – always makes for fun shots!

The couple met as musical actors, performing together in the stage production of Legally Blonde – this might explain some of the references in the film – see if you can spot them! I’ve filmed actors getting married before and it seems they have so much vitality and are not afraid to show their emotions, nor their sense of fun. These guys really knew how to embrace the moment – even when it was overwhelming at times. For example, when Pete serenaded Dom during his speech, it was almost too much to handle emotionally, such a powerful gesture which had the whole room blown away.

The whole Secret River Garden team were really accommodating, and no one could stop smiling. Live music from the Saxophonist during the reception, then DJ and finally wedding band the Lion Men (not to mention Pete himself) made this a music and fun-packed celebration, and totally my bag. I’m all about the party, and so was everyone there.

Special mention to the fabulous wedding dress (Muse By Berta) and the spectacular floral arrangements (Leigh Chappell Flowers), plus high five to wonderful wedding photographer Michael Maurer who was awesome to work with and fit the chilled ambience perfectly.
